With the new enclosure designed and built to match the existing treehouse, we're ready to let the duck test out their new home. We have plumbed the pump and filtration system and put the pipe in the treehouse to see how that height will look. We found that bamboo reeds are extremely waterproof despite the spaces in between the reeds. They can be cut into all shapes and sizes with heavy scissors and duct tape around the edge of the cut line. We used it to cover our rock filters later on. It is an inexpensive way to provide shade in the summer and protection from wind and rain in the winter, and the bonus is that it works with our tropical theme.
