We shopped for great deals on plants at a dozen local nurseries and found a perfect mix of tropical foliage that thrive in our zone and will grow to proportions that work now and will enhance our yard as they mature. This fern will grow to about 12 feet, and make a beautiful and relaxing arch over the walkway. The lillies are growing like crazy, and we will be thinning them out as necessary. Always keep the mature plant size in mind before you invest money, time and labor. And spend the extra time to make sure your soil is healthy and ready for planting.
