This is the hole after 5 long days of digging with 2 laborers working very hard. Note the cement pile and the dirt that is piled up about 4-6 feet around the perimeter of the hole. Oh, and let me mention that a freak storm came over the house and poured for an hour just as the dirt was starting to be hauled, and quickly became MUD!!! A word of caution: it was difficult to find a company that would haul dirt/mud that is mostly clay and concrete. After a couple of companies came and left shaking their heads, we finally found one and it cost ALOT more than we expected. Since we did not have reuseable soil, it had to go to the dump, and there is a charge for that as well.
